I didn't plan on putting Summoner so high in the Tier List, but there's a significant point: the level of your Summoner and Scholar is shared, meaning if you level up your scholar to lvl 60 and then want to become a DPS, hey, your Summoner is 60 too.. I think it's helpful to start out with a description of what Summoner is and isn't - especially in regards to the history of the job since ARR, considering how often it gets significant portions of its skills reworked. Ruin 4 is an upgraded version of Ruin 2 - it's still instant but does even more damage than Ruin 3. If you master any particular phase first, this one is the most important as it comprises the largest portion of your damage. Unlike Fester though, Painflare does not require any DoTs to be active on the target to deal its full damage. A simpler way to also consider it is that TriD must always happen first so that a use is not wasted & lost. Select your class, and click or drag skills to the skill area. You may have noticed that your trances have a cooldown of 55 seconds, while your Tri-Disaster, which is reset by your trances, has a cooldown of 50 seconds. We open with Tri-disaster (TriD) then clip it with a super buffed TriD at ~12s into a pull. This makes sense, especially with what it takes to summon Demi-Bahamut...So, this is the rotation I came up with. Here are the DoT cycle timings with the 3rd GCD DWT Opener: These timings are with the goal having as much DoT uptime with damage buffs as possible without compromising the general structure. Perks. Enkindle is much like Egi-Assault in that it commands your pet to use a special ability, which changes depending on which is summoned. What? Do not use an Egi Assault if already at max procs, use a Ruin IV first. Not only to ensure that the Tri-Disaster which will naturally come off cooldown is delayed until our previous DoTs fall off, but our FBT is also delayed accordingly that placing both within the window for raid buff timings. Once your DWT becomes available, you start the whole process over. Dreadwyrm Trance (DWT) transforms into Firebird Trance (FBT) after having completed a Bahamut phase. Published with Ghost. No results for your search, try something different. No results for your search, try something different. Its a priority system. This is made easier by the fact that FBT makes our GCDs instant during this time, but there's a catch.Demi-Phoenix is unresponsive for the first half second or so after its summoned. In the past, Summoner has been much less mobile because it required long periods of standing still and casting Ruin 3 back-to-back - which is currently only a short portion of our rotation. It does have a 15y range so be mindful of distances relative to other party members. Note: While these are for the ideal cases, Ruin IVs may have been used for movement earlier due to mechanics & there are no stacks left. Right now, Summoner has access to many more instant-cast GCDs (if you don't know that term, see my guide on double-weaving here) which allow us to keep moving while casting for significant portion of most fights. Ruin IV is best used to replace a Ruin II cast for: When Ruin II is not required in the near future, Ruin IV upgrades Ruin III. Our golden standards for FBT & Phoenix are: While it is possible in theory to get a 9th GCD FoF & potentially a 9th SF with much higher than standard Spell Speed, this the loss in damage overall for all other sources outweighs this potency gain. It has several effects: Dreadwyrm Trance should always be used immediately when it is available after your opener. Since Tri-D does a large amount of damage and instantly resets your DoTs, this is an extremely important mechanic that should not be overlooked. Summoner, along with Red Mage is a DPS that can revive other players. FFXIVâs Summoner has gone through quite a few transformations over the years⦠Historically, SMNâs are a reasonably mobile caster class. Arcanist >> Summoner â calls on a pet/primal that attacks on his/her behalf; class also has access to debuffs and damage-over-time spells. All of your spells cast 2.5 seconds faster - meaning anything other than Ressurection is cast. There are very few places its actually useful outside of nuking large trash pulls in dungeons - but it is required in Ultima Weapon Ultimate. During this 26s window there are two mandatory weaves that must happen: The timing of FBT is important with raid buff alignment in mind. Summoners however should not be expected to hold Phoenix for better healing windows. I say almost, because depending on your ping to the game server, it may be desirable to have a small amount of spell speed that reduces your GCD enough to get in Wyrmwave and Scarlet Flames you would otherwise miss to lag. Updates: Dec 8th 2020 Added all new items from Patch 5.4! A large part of higher level Summoner play revolves around aligning burst phases with party buffs due to how it can condense a high amount of potency into a small window. Summon Bahamut requires 2 Dreadwyrm Aether from a completed DWT phase in order to summon him. For all the rotation information, videos & nuances regarding Bahamut click here. If you summon it and immediately use a GCD... you may not get a Scarlet Flame at all, or you may get one so late that all your others are delayed and you're prevented from getting 8.To solve this issue you have two real options - you can Single Weave your summon Phoenix, so you hit an instant GCD, cast Firebird Trance, then cast your Fountain of Fire when the GCD cooldown is over - or you can double weave Phoenix + Enkindle, so that the first half second or so of her Summon is spent casting Revelation, following that with your Fountain of Fire GCD.As with Bahamut, practicing this on a dummy until you're sure you can hit 8 every time is extremely important to being a good SMN. During this phase, each time you land a GCD, Demi-Bahamut will follow it up with Wyrmwave which does a large amount of damage. Weapon Damage is even more important than Int. Like Scholar, Summoner has access to micromanagement skills that command its pets. They don't want to cast them unless they are in a cardinal or intercardinal position around their owner. More on the merits of pet actions can be found here. Ffxiv Summoner Rotation Level 60. **, to make the most of party buff synergy with snapshots, DoTs are running out & Trance is soon available? The second Filler phase priorities are to: Like with the first Filler phase, there will be ~26s until the next Energy Drain. However it also has some differing effects: While Demi-Phoenix is active, each time you cast a damaging GCD it will attack the same target with Scarlet Flame -. However unlike with Scholar, Physick does not scale with Summoner's primary stat. The faster raise can be the difference for getting people back up in time for mechanics to salvage runs & progress further on in encounters. As devotion provides a simple damage-up buff, it is best used at the same time as other party buffs so as to increase the damage of large burst abilities generally used during that window. Gear with an increase in Int is always preferred over substat increases. Ruin IV should always be prioritised to be the GCD weaving FBT. Summoner has access to two special buffs called Trances. Edit: the rotation is 2 minutes long, so be prepared for a bit of trip. Most likely no major changes in rotation or priority. Brand of Purgatory replaces Outburst during Firebird Trance. Arcanists may choose to specialize into summoner once they reach level 30, and complete the quests Sylph-management and Sinking Doesmaga. Using Deathflare ends your DWT immediately though, so you generally want to cast it when ending DWT early will line up with large damage buffs from your party. Summon 2 - Summons Titan/Topaz Carbuncle. Most of our large damage burst spells do AoE damage around their primary target and thus allow us to keep our general flow of combat the same while putting down huge groups of enemies effortlessly. Summon 1, 2 and 3 are used to summon your pets - at low levels, Carbuncle and at high level Egis (though these can be glamoured to look like Carbuncles). As of patch 5.1 their uses are as follows: The Egi Assault spells are your primary way of interacting with your summoned pets - Garuda-Egi (who replaces Emerald Carbuncle), Titan-Egi (who replaces Topaz Carbuncle) and Ifrit-Egi. So far I love my Summoner (slowly learning the healing side of Scholar too). While their âmulti phaseâ rotation is a little too much to swallow for some, itâs a welcome challenge for some. Never hardcast DoTs during this window. In addition, you gain the ability to cast Enkindle Bahamut which will make Bahamut cast Akh Morn - a large AoE nuke similar to Deathflare. FFXIVâs Summoner has gone through quite a few transformations over the years⦠Historically, SMNâs are a reasonably mobile caster class. The following crafting classes can create items that are useful to the summoner: Alchemist â Books. Given that I've been able to achieve 90-99th percentile parses with this information, I generally believe it to be more than good enough to get you to the point you know how to ask the right questions to improve further. If you've studied this guide and put these ideas into practice but are still coming up short, I strongly recommending coming over to the #smn_questions channel on The Balance discord server for help. Following the opener comes the most important concept to understand for 5.10 Summoner: A key concept for Summoner is timing Miasma III & Bio III DoTs appropriately. Keeping to time allows the rest to fall into place. You will generally still have to apply Bio & Miasma manually a few times during a fight due to Tri-D's cooldown being longer than the duration of both DoTs, but Tri-D will account for all but one refresh of DoTs every two minutes. Summoner's level 3 Limit Break is Teraflare - a large AoE blast that does less damage than a melee limit break, but more than a Ranged limit break. To solve this problem, every time Firebird Trance becomes available, you wait 10 seconds before casting it. Due to Trance cooldowns & party buffs happening at windows every minute, we are presented with a timing problem. Demi-Bahamut and Demi-Phoenix have a strange quirk around using their respective Enkindle abilities, Akh Morn and Revelation. It can only be used once every 2 minutes however, so it's best used when under the effect of as many party buffs as possible to make the most of its high damage. Here is a 5 minute video of the rotation in action giving enough time to observe the 2 minute cycle twice, as well as the 3rd GCD DWT Opener: While the parts separately may appear initially intimidating to learn, once you get the ball rolling the rotation in full uptime will play into itself more seamlessly where even if there are stumbles in action sequences & drifting cooldowns, there are places where you can correct your timings with Trance cooldowns & DoT resets. Being able to ressurect fallen healers (or others when your healers are otherwise occupied) can be the difference between seeing new mechanics your group hasn't reached before or falling flat and starting over.Additionally, fights with a lot of AoE (as well as dungeons) allow Summoner to do absolutely ridiculous amounts of damage. Secondary to Crit is Direct Hit - Crit's weaker cousin. That introduced a couple of minor inconveniences, but mostly just means you donât have to micromanage your fairies as much. This last portion depends on which method we decide to use for FBT itself. While you do want to prioritise 4 procs for the upcoming buff window phase, it is better to use Ruin IV casts to keep GCD uptime & have to use Ruin IIs at a 40p loss than it is to lose 200p casts altogether. For the final Wyrmwave, I recommend either using a Ruin 4, or casting Ruin 4 as the second-to-last GCD during bahamut phase, then weaving in a Swiftcast and making the last GCD an instant Ruin 3. The Scholar received some quite serious changes with Shadowbringers. One of the most obvious is that both Summoner and Scholar pets can no longer be targeted by enemies or allies. By ending early not only are you getting Deathflare into a full buff window, you are also beginning your next Bahamut phase before buffs disappear. Prioritise Devotion usage around 3 minute raid buff windows. This would not only lose the damage of the action but lose a Ruin IV proc. Itâs harder than other dps jobs to do mechanics. Any drift on the first Trance means the delay on the next Trance must be reduced accordingly to keep to time. It's nothing special but it does add up. I wont go into a lot of detail here because better resources exist, but the current ideal opener for most fights is diagramed in this infographic from The Balance: Following this diagram, you would begin casting your first Ruin 3 exactly 2.5 seconds before the boss is pulled, and hit sic so your pet begins running to the boss just a half second before the pull - this way your first hit and your pets first hit are immediate. Unlike Egi-Assaults and Enkindle, Devotion's effect is the same regardless of which pet is summoned. Every 2 minute cycle will have 1 Bahamut phase. Summoners love Crit. Practicing this phase on dummies an ensuring you can always get all 8 hits is essential to playing SMN well in endgame content. In theory you can extend a DWT up to the max possible GCDs for movement before the timer elapses, however, doing so: This awkward DoT timing can make the following DoT hardcast set lose you a Wyrmwave. Det provides us a flat increase in damage and healing. The main rotation problems arise when downtime is thrown to the mix where figuring out how to adapt more optimally can be tricky. Both your Dreadwyrm Trance and your Firebird Trance will reset the cooldown of Tri-Disaster, making it available for use immediately after their activation. It's not even worth it to keep it on your bar. ffxiv samurai rotation guide ffxiv The Samurai is one of the two new Jobs introduced in Final Fantasy XIVâs latest expansion, Stormblood. These spells have an entirely different effect based on which pet is summoned, but each one will cause your pet to use a special ability when pressed. One thing to be aware of is that TriD will always be cast either just before or immediately after a Trance, where the TriD just before FBT, is being held for ~10s after it becomes available to keep the DoT cycle timings in check. (Sorry for the delay! Some black mages think you should start off the same as your single target rotation⦠At the tail end of the Bahamut phase a charge is gained for EA1 & EA2 each with the next pair of charges being gained around around the next Energy Drain timing at ~x:01. Enkindle Bahamut, not to be confused with the Egi-affecting Enkindle, orders your Demi-Bahamut to cast Akh Morn, a high damage AoE nuke. Summon Banananut © 2020 Ri⦠A comprehensive guide by Caimie Tsukino for "Eureka Anemos" introduced in Patch 4.25 of FFXIV. Unlike Deathflare, you can cast this twice while Bahamut is out, though it has a 10 second cooldown so the first cast should be used ASAP. Gain: like a fucking billion potency, if the AoE phase is significant enough basically just say âscrew itâ to your original rotation and resync afterwards. I strongly recommend using Ruin 4 after summoning Bahamut, just before you cast Enkindle Bahamut. Scholar Rework â FF14 Shadowbringers Guide. They will still be accurate for 4.4, only difference is that ifrit is a bit weaker than he once was. Upon entering DWT the following benefits happen: The last change allows for DWT to be a cooldown for mobility & extra weaving space. I graduated! If you started FFXIV as a tank or healer, and want yourself a high-level DPS, this might be the top pick. I think it's helpful to start out with a description of what Summoner is and isn't- especially in regards to the history of the job since ARR, considering how often it gets significant portions of its skills reworked. Once Bahamut disappears, your egi will return and your Dreadwyrm Trance turns into Firebird Trance - It lasts for 20 seconds and just like Dreadwyrm Trance it reduces your cast time by 2.5 seconds. It is 0nly available for cast following the end of Dreadwyrm Trance. Summoner has the benefit of being one of the stronger AoE jobs in the game due to our ability to take advantage of AoE situations at various points in our rotation. No major changes in rotation or priority. It is extremely important that you never accumulate chargers of Further Ruin when you already have 4 stacks as you'd lose a use of Ruin 4 for each one. When you want to share the sequence, click share and send them the url! This means every single spell besides your rez will be an instant cast. FBT remains first & foremost one of our high potency windows for buff alignment. As a good summoner will always have both DoTs active on the target at all times, this shouldn't be a problem - but be careful not to blow it on new targets, or when a boss has just come back from an invulnerability phase and you have yet to apply your DoTs. This buffed TriD marks the beginning of the core DoT cycle. Beginning at level 62, Egi-Assault I will grant you a stack of Further Ruin every time you use it - upgrading Ruin 2 into Ruin 4. It is important to note that both of the Trances share the same 55s cooldown, however unlike DWT having a 15s duration, FBT lasts for 20s allowing for 8 GCDs at typical Spell Speed values before it ends. In the rotation it is used in the following ways: While DWT has a 15s duration, it is important to note that DWTs are ended early for the sake of aligning burst under raid buffs in a standard full uptime scenario. At level 74, Egi-Assault II will do the same. Trance to reset & use, DoTs are running out & Trance is not available, but have, DoTs are running out & you have neither Trance, nor, all GCDs have their base cast time reduced by, can make your DoTs fall off at an awkward time during or after, take advantage of free weaving space, such as the, Cast Ruin III as much as possible while maintaining proper GCD uptime, Use free weaving space to your advantage, such as the, Avoid overcapping on Ruin IV procs, but prioritise setting up 4x procs for, even minute (0m, 2m, 4m) has DWT with TriD, DF, Enkindle, Festers & part of Bahamut, odd minute (1m, 3m, 5m) has TriD into FBT, Festers & part of Phoenix. As you've probably guessed, during the Phoenix phase it is also absolutely essential to get out 8 Scarlet Flames. I hear using addle during the bahamut phase triggers a bahamut attack. Many parts of playing Summoner well are not immediately apparent and come as the result of community members doing a lot of research and experimentation to discover the best uses of our abilities.
